Requesting a Letter of Recommendation
Continuing to serve current and former students through letters of recommendation is an important part of my job, and I am more than happy to continue to support students in this way. That being said, writing letters of recommendation is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Therefore, in order to get the best letter possible, please complete the following steps:
Step 1:
Please review Paul Corrigan's advice about "How to Get Strong Letters of Recommendation from Professors."
Step 2:
If your letter is for employment purposes, you must complete and submit the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi FERPA Waiver form. This will enable me to include relevant information about your academic success/acumen in my letter.

Letters for graduate school or educational scholarships do not need to complete this step.
Step 3:
Complete the "Request for Letter of Recommendation" form.
Step 4:
Email me at manuel.pina@tamucc.edu to let me know that you've submitted the form.
Step 5:
Once I have submitted your letter, I will contact you to let you know. Please take a moment to respond with a brief "thank you" email (This allows me to document this aspect of my service work). Most importantly, do not forget to update me! I want to know about the great things you are doing!
